These small clues to success will make all the difference in your real estate business.

In real estate, as in life, success leaves clues, and today, I want to share with you some of the success clues I’ve been following along my journey.

I remember when I decided to get into real estate, I thought, how hard could this be? I’m driven, I’m sharp, good with people, so I thought it would be a breeze.

The truth is, months went by, and I wasn’t making any sales, I remember thinking “clients can smell a desperate REALTOR a mile away.” I was always focused on the client, helping them get to their goals, but while I realized that commissions shouldn’t distract me, who was I kidding, I was broke and desperate.

On the clues of the best

After struggling for two plus years, eventually I figured out there was a better way, a smarter way of working. I realized that success leaves clues. There are people who came before us and knowing their paths can shorten ours.

I started studying the top performers in the field, going to events with them, masterminding with them, modeling their strategies, and implementing their proven systems; and what a difference. I went from struggling broke with $13,000 plus in credit card debt, to selling 29 plus houses my third year in the business and never looking back.

One of my first realizations was that you need to be persistent. Perseverance is one of the qualities of any successful person in the world and especially in real estate, success stories contain hundreds of examples of that. This means that you must be determined and not let the struggles get in your way.

From amateur to expert

Another clue I picked up from top agents is that they are experts, you can’t remain an amateur and make it big in this industry. You need to have a deep understanding of both the profession and the local real estate market, for example, having the inside scoop on a new listing or new community can put your clients at an advantage and ultimately get you more and more business.

Customers expect you to tell them all they need to know, and the more they learn, the more you convince them they are making the best decision of their lives. You need to work hard at your growth, because training, research, and understanding of your business are pillars of your authority and credibility in front of your customers.

Lastly, your attitude determines your altitude. This is a big key of success, great business leaders are very positive, communicative, empathetic, and enthusiastic people, and that energy makes a deep connection with those around them.

Building your authenticity

I recommend you channel your best authentic self at every moment, it’s not about trying to be like someone else, it’s about being the best you. Here are five key points that can help you: channel your passion for the business or your clients, your desire to help others accomplish great goals, your perseverance and drive, your attention to the needs of others, and take action towards getting better and better every day.

I have walked my own path; I have followed the success principles of leaders who came before me and the clues they left along their journey, and now I lead a team selling over $100 million in production annually. And best of all, I lead my team from home or anywhere in the world, real estate has brought me amazing wealth and great freedom.

That’s why even to this day, I seek the best to be my best. As I continue my journey, here I leave clues and footsteps that I want to share with you. I’m here to help you grow your business and create your own way to success.
